We developed the AAYF AWARDS in 2022 as part of our vision to recognize and promote individuals and institutions’ achievements and contributions (c achievements and contributions can have been made either by a specific activity or over a period of time) towards the youth empowerment and development in their respective countries in Africa and Asia, which we believe such recognition serves to raise awareness and promote further improvements and contributions. This year, we do the Awards at the gala dinner in the presence of higher Ethiopian government representatives, ambassadors, businesspersons, financial institutions CEOs, CSOs representatives and other guests of honors on 13th of June 2023 to honor the entries.
Nominations may be made by anybody and are judged by a panel of experts and approved by the organizing committee.
General criteria:
• Nominations for this award must be submitted by the individual or organization that knows the nominee well.
• Nominations are also accepted from colleagues within the same department or institution as the nominee or who work for the nominated company or organization.
• Members of the panel are not eligible.
• No correspondence or discussion as to why an individual or organization was not given an award is entered into with either those nominated or the nominators.
• You must submit statements that directly address how the nominee fits the remit of the Award they are being put forward for.
Prize
The Outstanding contribution award consists of a certificate and trophy which will be presented annually at AAYF Annual Dinner.
Rules of the Award
• The judging panel will consider all properly submitted nominations and any materials supplied in support of them.
• The decision of the main organizing committee is final.
• Materials submitted in support of any nomination will be accepted on the condition that:
o The AAYF may disclose the names of the nominee(s) and the nominator(s).
o The nominee agrees that disclosure of material submitted in support of the nomination does not breach the terms of any contract of employment or any other contract, and that there is entitlement to make use of the material.
Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted in the English Language and include the following information:
• Name, professional or home mailing address, email address, present job title.
• If an individual is nominated, the name, Gender, Age, professional or home mailing address, email address, present job title and organization.
